Strong interest from overseas buyers kick starts 2

Since the Christmas break we have experienced a large volume of new enquiries from potential purchasers from the Euro Zone and South East Asia, making the most of the weak pound and the fall in house prices. Some estimates show that the two factors mean that buyers can get properties for as much as 40% less than the peak of the market in 2007 and as such it is viewed as the right time to invest into the UK market.
'Buyers are particularly keen on new, completed properties, or those with vacant possession or no onward chain' explains Chris Mullin from Stirling Ackroyd's Bankside office. 'We have noticed a steady increase in overseas interest since October, many of whom have already completed on purchases, and we have returned from the Christmas break to find this interest is gathering pace quickly. we have some superb new and second hand properties at the moment that are ideally suited for these buyers.'
