Clerkenwell Design Week - Importance of community and the SA networking event

Forming relationships with the community and local business is pivotal to what we do at Stirling Ackroyd. Networking and being ‘in-the-know’ with the surrounding area is important to both us, our clients and our neighbours, and we understand the importance of promoting businesses in the local community.

With one of our key branch offices based in Clerkenwell, sponsoring Clerkenwell Design Week over the last few years has been a great way to engage with the community around us. This year, we partnered with workspace specialists Fora, to offer a series of design-led talks from world-renowned designers, architects and marketers in their new co-working building in the heart of Clerkenwell

The informative workshops, titled ‘A Space to be brilliant’, have given an insight into the importance of design within the workspace market. Starting with Katrina Larkin, a co-founder of Fora and her talk ‘The future of Workspace’ and ending with Palatino Restaurateur and Chef Stevie Parle sharing how restaurant design enhances the dining experience, we had a diverse and engaging range of topics discussed.

“Stirling Ackroyd are always excited to be a part of the Clerkenwell Design Week,” says Brett Sullings, Head of Commercial Agency and Investment.

“Especially when all the local occupiers, designers and showrooms open their doors for the week, the sense of community is definitely present,” he adds.

As a firm of Residential & Commercial Letting & Estate Agents, we pride ourselves in the areas in which we specialise, and interacting with the local community is a very important part to our success and brand awareness. Our office on the corner of St John Street and Clerkenwell Road is right in the heart of it all so getting involved seeming like a holistic match for our business!

“This year’s talks took place with our event partners Fora were exciting with a variety of speakers all sharing their wealth of knowledge, experiences and products within the design world. The talks were all held in Fora’s fantastic pro working space that was recently launched on Central Street.

“We are ambassadors for the Fora space and have really enjoyed showing the local community what they have on offer. The design that went into making the space is second to none, from the smaller design features to the modern facilities and amenities such as the MIT designed white noise speaker system.

“The space has been designed with hospitality in mind and from the moment you walk through the revolving entrance that is just what you get - a very inviting space to come into and comfortable place to work and network! All of our visitors this week have been wowed by not only the content discussed but also the venue both as a presentation space and on their tours through the workspace environment

“We very much look forward to being involved in Clerkenwell Design Week for years to come”!
