In the 17th Century, South Clerkenwell was a fashionable place of residence, popular with the wealthy elite, including Oliver Cromwell who had a house on Clerkenwell Green. The warehouses and workshops of Clerkenwell’s industrial past still exist today, but they are now home to architectural practices, design showrooms, film companies and new media agencies.
