A guide to… Brook Green

There are two main shopping centres in Brook Green, one on the Shepherd’s Bush Road and the other on Blythe Road. Whereas Shepherd’s Bush Road is home to your usual high-street shops and restaurants, on Blythe Road you can find more independent, unique shops and cafes. If this isn’t enough, Westfield London shopping centre is within walking distance from Brook Green.

Brook Green Park, from where Brook Green takes its name, is a great space to unwind and relax. It is great for walking, running or cycling in and around. The park is also home to Gym in the Park, an outdoor fitness boot-camp class. Nearby, residents of Brook Green also have easy access to Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park and the River Thames is also nearby for those who feel like a stroll.

For those who enjoying exercising and keeping fit, Brook Green has two local gyms, Fitness First and Virgin Active. Brook Green is famous for being the only London Borough to contain three professional football clubs, Chelsea, Queens Park Rangers and Fulham.

Hammersmith Apollo and Olympia London are also nearby and provide a great evening’s entertainment with one off events, gigs and comedy.

From Brook Green it takes approximately 20 minutes to reach central London and has easy transport routes for those travelling via train or road. Via road there is easy access to the M25 and the M4 as well as the A406. There are also several bus routes, making Brook Green an incredibly well connected place to live.

For those travelling via train, the closest train stations to Brook Green are located in Shepherds Bush (Central Line and London Overland, Zone 2), Kensington Olympia (District Line and Overland, Zone 2) and Baron’s Court (District and Piccadilly Lines, Zone 2). The transport hub that is Hammersmith is just 10 minutes away offering access to the Circle, District, Piccadilly and Hammersmith and City Lines as well as regular bus services getting you across central London.
